It happens again for everyone else. Roughly once a month. I doubt I'd be the exception.

Not a strict one, no. Sometimes it's triggered by something, specifically.

It isn't that. I've had a glass with dinner since then, and it didn't happen.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, from what I can gather from others going through the same thing. When it happens again, I'll let you know if there's anything in common with the first time.

Okay. When it happens again, can you remember it's only in your mind? Do you think you might be able to beat it? Mind or matter?

I'll try to. But the pain itself was real. I just won't know until I get there.

Just because you felt the pain doesn't mean it was real. It just felt real.

All pain is in your brain, if you want to get technical about it.

Unless it was happening on a different plane. Somewhere parallel where you're given the stigmata. But, I think it's about torturing you. Maybe for dying. They do call it a "consequence."

A third version of myself, and I'm feeling his pain? Do you deal with parallel universes a lot?

Yeah. No one's effects have been good, as far as I know. This isn't supposed to happen. Dying and then coming back, I mean. Maybe something in our souls, or bodies, or whatever you believe in, rejects it. And so we don't come back the same.

Once, that I've had experience with. It was called the Other Side.

You're right. Maybe this universe isn't used to the dead coming back.

You don't have magic, but you've been to the other side?

[interpersonally]

( You don't even know what the other side is, bruh. )

The Other Side trapped the dead who didn't move on to peace. It ran alongside our world, and, yes, if you had unfinished business, magic or not, you could end up on the Other Side.

I'm sorry to hear it. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Is that why you're so interested?

In your death consequence? I'm interested, because any aspect of this place that might give us answers is worth being interested in.
